Tribal African Percussion Seminar DJEMBE
& Tribal Chorus with Lefteris Grigoriou
After we went crazy and were enchanted last year, we decided to do it again. This special and very interesting workshop will be hosted again this year on our estate in the first days of October. A two-day Tribal African Percussion DJEMBE & Tribal Chorus. With the Djembe we will travel to the world of African polyrhythms and to the improvisational Tribal drum circle. Accordingly, we will also work with the voice on an African song and Song Circle, Tribal Improvisation! The seminar is aimed at all levels of contact with percussion.
On Saturday we will party live at the "Rizes" cafe with "Ta Krousta tis Takis" where we may participate with the material we have learned!
Those who wish can be hosted in the fairy-tale houses of the COB estate with organic meals from its gardens.

Instructors: Our guide on this beautiful journey will be Lefteris Grigoriou. He was born into an artistic environment and began music from a young age, studying Classical and Contemporary music in Athens and Paris where he lived from 1984 to 1994. There he discovered and was enchanted by the “Ethnic musics” that led him on many long-term trips to black and northern Africa, Cuba, etc. as well as to Northern Greece and the Balkans. After years of studying how people play, how they celebrate and how they perform rituals all over the world, he dedicated himself to putting it into practice in his own life and in the lives of those around him in Kerameikos in Greece where he lives but also wherever else he finds himself. He teaches at his school (which was originally on Takis Street in Psirri and then in Kerameikos) and creates live Tribal experiences with his live performances with his various groups “Ta Krousta tis Takis”, “Global Daoulia”, “Afromantinades”, etc. Some of his music has been recorded on the CDs “Ta Krousta tis Takis” and “Afromantinades” which can be found on Bandcamp
